Re: Advice Needed: Rear Suspension
The wear has just started and I've not touched the suspension for several years. In fact only a fwew weks ago the tyres were fine as I checked them while it was on the lift getting the exhaust sorted. This is the first time I've had the rear tyres wear in this way.
Recently there has been a bit more noise from the back ... knocking and squeaking. And on the road, a lengthways repair in the surface will cause the car to "tramline" more ie follow the tarmac edges, etc. So I know the alignment is out.
So my thoughts are something has worn and finally given out. The transverse arms look fine and I can't twist them or see only play in the bushes. The trailing arms though will move and it's these bushes that I suspect more, hence my questions.
I'll get the tracking done once I've replaced the bushes .... not worth it before then ... and if I can find somewhere around here that will do it. I've never been able to find anyone in the 8 years I've owned the car that will touch the alignment on an Alfa ..... may give the dealer a ring to see who they use/recommend.
