Just thought a mention-in-Despatches was in order after the chaps at Pro Alfa in Watford got me out of a spot today; as if having to come back for a funeral wasn't bad enough, the Sportwagon decided it wanted a new offside lower wishbone, letting me know by spitting most of the bush near the ball joint out and clunking like some mad drummer under power. Chris and Frederico fixed it in short order, and replaced a tired track rod end too! Despite the wrong side turning up in the right box ( read it again - it does make sense!), they quickly found a replacement, whilst diverting me with excellent coffee, cigarettes and showing me round all the cars in just now ( Maserati quotroporte! Mmmmm, nice!), and explained the interesting mods to the race cars they compete, some of which will be duplicated for road cars...and will be for sale! My poor wallet is in for another battering, then!
The cherry on the cake was Chris letting me have drive of his 8 valve 156 jtd ( he's posted on here about this), it's got some poke, that car! Handles very well, too. All that, and with Frederico's fantastic Italian accent making me feel like I was leaving in an alloy bodied vintage racer, rather than the Sportwagon, I was a much happier Captain. There are still some decent chaps in the motor trade. As they say on eBay "WOULD RECOMMEND!"
All the best to all on the forum,
