We don't know exactly what caused the the problem. If it was failure of a part it might be down to Alfa, but, if it was just short of oil they are unlikely to be sympathetic.
I presume when you mention re-boring that it does not have replaceable liners. Depends on how "oval" but boring would usually be +0.25mm or +0.5mm. Even 0.5mm would increase the cylinder volume by 6cc, just about 1% and negligible. Certainly no effect on ecu, indeed the system would anyway be "self adjusting"
Sadly my assessment is that the better options are to get a second hand replacement engine or to sell, as is, if you can get a reasonable offer.
