Further 147 Gearchange Problems
After some advice here about a very dodgy gearchange on my 2.0 TS 147.
About a year ago I had the usual 147 stiff gearchange problem which was successfully cured by replacing the selector shaft bushes (as described in numerous posts on this forum). The only remaining problem after the fix was a very sloppy gear lever when in neutral, but I learned to live with it.
The problem now is that the gearchange has got exceedingly stiff again and the sloppiness in the gearlever is so bad that it feels like the gearlever isn't actually attached to anything when in neutral! Engaging any gear now is a lottery, making the car almost undriveable.
Does anyone have any suggestions as to what the problem may be? I just can't believe that the new bushes have worn out or seized up so soon after replacement. Is there any adjustment on the cables that could be done to remove the sloppiness in neutral? Is there any other part of the linkage that could be causing the stiffness?
