Hmmm Throttle Fault.

Hi to all, great to be a member.
I put my 156, 2001, 1.8, 150K miles, through its NCT (Irish MOT). It failed, because emissions couldn't be tested. The technician called me over and showed me the emissions were ok, but could not pass the car as the revs would not stay static (between 3500 to 4500), they kept fluctuating up and down. The only reason given on the NCT report : Throttle control Fault.

I have a doner 156, 2001, 1.8 (my first Alfa, lower mileage). I am going to start with swapping over the Throttle body, will this fix the problem ?
It would be great to hear anybody's thoughts.
I love the 156's and cant wait to make her better !!

I believe that if you can't hold a steady throttle then itmeasns the lambda is at fault.

I doubt anything in the throttle body will be faulty at that rpm.
