Changing my GTV for 156 JTD
Not posted on here before as I have a GTV!
I'm going to be changing my GTV shortly for a 156 JTD. I will be changing jobs soon and need something more economical. A useful boot will be a nice change too!
My TS GTV is a 2000 V-reg with 37k, silver with red momo interior, and 17 teledials. It's a beautiful car and my pride and joy but has to go unfortunately. Any idea of what I should ask for it? I paid ₤7600 for it about 18 months ago.
Anyway, main reason for this posting is to say that I test drove a 52 plate 156 2.4 JTD yesterday and was amazed by its performance. Would leave the GTV for dead on the move. SOOO much torque! I am well impressed, the new 175bhp M-Jet must fly!
I must admit that although the GTV looks fanatstic and the ladies love it!! From a driving point of view I prefer the 156. Not having the steering wheel between my knees made a nice change too!
Anyway, I have the 17in Cup Teledials on my GTV, and have 4 almost new Eagle F1s so am thinking of getting a set of standard 16s for the GTV to sell it, and keeping the 17s for my future 156.
The PCD is the same, just wanted to check whether the offset is ok for the 156. I assume it is as I've seen a GTV with 156 Selespeed wheels. Can anyone confirm this. Also, they have 225/45 tyres. Is this ok for the 156 or do they need to be narrower or lower profile?
If anyone can help me on this I would appreciate it. GTA wheels would be the obvious choice for the 156 but I prefer the teledials, and the 156 16s look a bit too small.
