hi ppl, this is my first post so please be kind
I have a beautiful 156 1.6TS Veloce and since I purchased it from the Ewell Alfa dealership in Surrey, it's been suffering from squeaky breaks!!! It was even squeaking when I took it out on a test spin, but I wanted the car so much that I was a little impulsive and bought it as is.
They promised to take a look at it and after 3 months with no joy, I just decided to change my break discs and pads, I got some nice ventilated discs and EBC Green Stuff pads thinking that it make a difference.
I got a local trustworthy garage to change them for me on ALL four wheels, the back breaks were just standard discs and pads, however after driving it about 100 miles it started squeaking again!
I took it back and the garage regreesed the pads and cleaned them a bit and again after 100 miles it started to squeak like a 5 ton mice, it was awful, I was so embarassed to use the breaks in my car!!!
1 and half years later, my breautiful car has taken me and my belonging to spain, but my breaks are still squeaking.
Can anyone please give me some advice? the garage that I took it to in the UK said that they've tried almost everything bar ordering ORIGINAL alfa discs and pads.
BTW, it's my front wheels that's making the awful squelch that makes you want to cover your ears and for me the driver duck so nobody will see me driving!
I've read somewhere that someone with a new GT Coupe had the same problem and was only resolved by reversing the break pads? I don't understand that, but that's what the guy wrote.
