Cost saving tips

The wipers on my 156 SW were shot. They were Bosch Aero jobs. Started streaking no matter how thoroughly screen was cleaned.

Replaced with Bluecol Aeros from Tesco.

Then, ease out the old Bosch aero rubbers from the wipers, cut down and use in rear wiper. Just needs the old rubber pulling out, and the 'new' inserting.

Significantly better performance front and rear, and rear is fine given it doesn't need the optical clarity the front does.

As rear wipers on my 156 are about 10, and be Bosch are about 22 a set, the Bluecol ones have saved me 18 as they were 7 each.

Any other simple cost saving tips out there?

Good tip but sometimes cleaning the rubber with white vinegar restores the blades.
