Please help - key / immobiliser problems
I have recently bought a 156 2.5 from auction with no keys.
I love the looks of the car, but unfortunatly have had no joy with it.
Spoke to a locksmith who quoted an obscene price to get my car going so I had it recovered home.
Since then I ordered a new key and card (code 2 system) from alfa which I was told I could just go home and would work. When collecting, I was told car needed to come in to be programmed (too far away to pay for more recovery).
I then took the codes to my local locksmith who previously did a peugeot for me. When plugged in, his computer refused to connect, claimed my code from alfa is incorrect. Whilst doing this, we noticed my ecu number (read by machine) was 60653687 whilst the code card part no was 60655262. Is this correct, or have I been given a code card for ecu 5262?
Anyway, I been told by my locksmith that he knows someone who can read my code out of the ecu, but we looking at about £250 just for reading the code, no programming or guarantee it will work.
So my next thoughts were to remove ecu (and I been told my car also got a little yellow immobilser ecu), and swap with working ones with matched transponder chips. However, I was able to source a chipped 2.0 ecu with 3 transponders for £100, but no joy with a set for the 2.5, and Alfa will want some crazy price new.
This leads me to my next thought. Are there any tuning companies which offer chip programming for the 2.5 that inadvertantly removes the immobilser, or any way to power up a line between to two boxes to by pass the immobiliser?
I also read about an emergency one off start procedure wher you turn key to MAR, hold acc pedal for 8 secs till injector light flashes, let go, after 6secs, inj light should blink, then press pedal according to how many flahses for each digit, then light should come on for 4 secs.
I had no joy with this procedure - no flashing lights or anything except that the inj light always blinks once regardless of whether trying any procedure.
