I always had thrashed my cars about, even lost my license with 1 offence and blew up a volvo s40 engine 1.8
, litterally, starting smoking after loosing power on the A3 going towards london!!! (my fault, didn't change my oil, just kept filling it up and it cracked a bearing or something and I kept driving!
When I got my 156 1.6TS (had to get a smaller engine due to insurance!) I treated it the same way. 1 and half years later and all the way to spain with a huge heavy load, it was still reliable as ever! (apart from my squeaky breaks, but that's on another thread)
Then one friday evening about a 3 month ago now, bam, my clutch went and it took the garage and it took them 4 weeks to change and 472 euros after first quoting me only 200 euros, because apparently clutches on UK cars are different? go figure...
Then after 1 week of driving the car, not heavy footed or anything, my cambelt went and shot my pistons into my valves, another 4 weeks off the road and this time 1400 euros to fix!
So, how do I drive now? like a granny, seriously!!! except for when my misses ain't in the car sometimes do I let my little bella scream past those gastly gokarts mercs, but only sometimes.
Btw, with only 120BHP is it worth modding my engine to give me a little more torque and range? for example a Turbo would give me some silly horse power advantage, but can the 1.6 chasis etc... on the car take it?
