2000 Y registered Alfa Romeo 147 2.0 Selespeed for sale for Spares or Repair.
Covered 147000 Miles, had cam belt and Ilders/tensioner replaced three years ago so is due to be done again on a time basis. Car does not start or run as I stole the Crank shaft sensor for my new 147. A new sensor is less than £40 and can be relatively easily installed. The interior panels have been removed to get to the Bose system which has also been removed (the interior panels remain inside the car - just loose) - the head unit remains in situe but the car needs new speakers to produce any sound. The Selespeed gearbox was working perfectly when the car was parked up (it had a second hand actuator three years ago - I kept the original for parts - that is included). I connected a battery a few weeks ago in order to put the car in Neutral so it could be moved and a multitude of errors flashed up on the dash. (probably because the engine bay is in bits to accept access to the aforementioned crank sensor)
A/C is working well blows nice and cold and hasn't needed topping up in my three year ownership.
Three tires are good with 5-6mm tread left - one was a second hand replacement after the original received an irreparable puncture - this has more wear than the others and leaks air over-time requiring it to be pumped up once a fortnight or so.
The exterior is tatty - no rear screen wiper (broken off by yobs a long time ago) a few scratches and small dents here and there and some rust forming on the passenger side sill. Underside is crusty and needs taking back and re-sealed (I don't know how thick the metal is - I haven't prodded it with a screwdriver). The front suspension bushes are all shot - she creaks, knocks and groans depending on which type of bump you go over - these are the reasons I stopped using the car - the MOT and TAX ran out and predicting an MOT fail I parked it up and started sharing my partners car. In my opinion its not worth putting back on the road - with the cam belt, Suspension, re-under seal and general tatty-ness I decided she was not worth spending the money on.
So there you have it - if you have space and need a parts car for your 147 sele - this is the one for you - loads of good parts - Alternator, Power steering pump, A/C compressor and associated system piping/rads, internal switch gear, Leather, fuel and ignition system, exhaust - all good. Shame about the rest really as I really enjoyed driving the sele - being lazy with the auto mode and hooning about with the flappy paddles - it was motoring pleasure which I sorely miss.
It was my intention to keep this car as a spare parts bin for the wife's 147 but with the arrival of a new project space is tight and so this must go - I would have called my friendly car disposals who would give me £150 but I thought she might be worth more than that to someone for the parts.
Please not that as this car is not insured and has no tax it cannot be towed away, you will need to recover the vehicle with all four wheels off the ground.
Pictures hopefully found Here
