156 2.5 V6 Heads

Hi everyone.
I am now getting into Alfa Ownership but am still quite a novice! I have a couple of 156 2.5 V6 cars (one of which is being stripped for parts). My idea was to keep the cylinder heads from the soon to be scrapped V6 and maybe have them modified for a little more performance (although not silly amounts of power). Any thoughts on this? Not sure what to do with it but since I have the chance to do this while still having a standard V6 in the meantime, why not? Any advice would be appreciated.

The traditional route to more chuff is dropping a 3.0 in. You can tweak the 2.5 a bit, but if you're going to swap engines anyway, you might as well get some additional capacity. 3.2s are expensive and quite rare, but there seem to be plenty of 3.0 kicking around.

+1 - better to put a 3 litre in. By all means keep the heads etc, you never know when you might need them. But you're only ever going to get more top end, what the 2.5 needs is more bottom end torque and bigger ports etc won't do you any favours there. 3 litre is the way forward - my old 3 litre was also better on fuel than all of my previous 2.5s!
