Glow Plug problem on 156 2.4 JTD ?

Morning all
I have a question re the 156 2.4 JTD.

The glowplug warning light on the speedo flashes for approx. 30 seconds after the engine is running. The handbook indicates that this may be indicating a problem with the glowplug pre-heating system.

Indeed, I had my local (non-Alfa) garage hook it up to their test equipment and it flagged up the fault code "P0380 Plate heating/thermostat relay".

Anybody got any idea what this means and how to fix it ?

Many thanks as uaual

Dont worry about it until the car begins to struggle to start in cold weather!

Sound like the same problem I had on mine recently. Glow plug malfunction causing part of the ECU to go awol. Change glow plugs and circuit board, £315.
Had no effect on running at time but had it done immediatly as warranty was paying.
