Clutch peddle oddity

Hi all,
Strange thing happened the other day, I'd just driven about 6 miles along a m way and onto a dual carriageway- when I was just coming to a roundabout the clutch peddle went straight to the floor!!! a quick couple of panic pumps and I got enough pressure back to be able to get it into gear and get to my destination.

When I arrived, I popped the bonnet and checked the fluid level and all was well....No sign of leaks either.
I got back in the car a few minutes later and the peddle was back and better than before!
No problem since, Any thoughts ??? Should I be expecting trouble ?

Master or slave causing problems - not a major issue but could probably do with being repaired. Dunno if the slave is inside the gearbox on the petrol? on the diesel it is a bolt on jobby. If it is inside the gearbox then, needless to say, it is box out job! Master is by pedal.
