Alfa 156 1.9jtd 2001 Suddenly stops
I own an 2001 Alfa 156 1.9jtd with 175.000k/110.000miles on the clock. The car has worked flawlessly for more than a year. The car then suddenly died on me in traffic and wouldnt start again , resulting that i had to be towed to a nearby garage. When at the garage the car started without a problem and since they didnt have time i drove the car home.
Then a couple days later it refused to start one morning. After waiting 10minutes it started and was running fine for almost the whole day. It then died on me in traffic again, but restarted again. After the engine died the "check engine" light was lit and the starter motor seemed to work, but the engine wouldnt start (It started after about 10minutes)
Fluid Levels OK
Battery 12.9V / Alternator 14.0V
No Warnings lights when driving
Car seems to be running fine. I drove really agressivly without any problems to check
Running Temperature seems OK (abt 90degrees C)
The 156 E-Learning CD tells me it could be the fuel filters/Pump that is at fault
Any suggestions before handing the car in to an expert?
