jtd engine share

hi uys my question is basically the ***** 1.9 jtd shares its engine with other cars , so would it be worth getting a haynes manual for another make that shares the engine ? does anyone know of the vehichles that share it, cheers Mark

The 8 valve engine is used in a lot of Fiats, Stilo, Multipla etc, the 16 valve is used in vauxhalls and Saab's, z19dth code but it wont be exactly the same.

You can get elearn manuals on cd on ebay for only a few quid which will cover all of your car not just the engine.

As I see it, it makes sense only if the Haynes manual is very detailed and one is planning to take apart the engine. However there is normally no need to do any extreme surgery on the JTD engine (even in the odd cases of 16V cambelt failures).
The usual bits that may need attention are auxiliaries to the engine like the EGR, thermostat, MAF, clutch, gearbox (drive shafts), starter, alternator, inlet hoses, manifolds, lift pump etc. These again will vary depending on the actual car/model so may not provide much help in the end.

no i think the engine is blinding, the cars my wifes but i am thinking of getting rid of my bmw330i and getting a jtd maybe a gt , just thinking about more info , i heave the elearn disc but i dont find it as usefull as a proper manual
