Big M Servicing Advice Sort

In my local rag they're offer servicing for 150. My 147 is due its 36000 mile service although I just had the variator changed so belts and tensioners have been changed along with the oil and filter.

If I take it there is there anything I need to point out for them to look for?

All the brake calipers should be stripped & cleaned at every service, otherwise the seize (just the same as every other single piston sliding caliper).

If they are not an Alfa or Fiat garage, they may not have the correct diag computer to check out the various control systems.

What are they actually offering to do for 150?

Re: Big M Servicing Advice Sort

Is it specifically for the Alfa or just a basic service (ie any car)? What does it say it includes?

If "designed" for the Alfa, does it match what it says in your service history booklet? Haven't got mine to hand, but it won't include the belts as these are still designated for change in the 72K service.

If the latter, check that they put the right oil in ... 9 times out of 10 these guys use pretty basic oil and the Alfa needs 10W40 semi-synthetic, or synthetic. Oil filter shouldn't be a problem, but watch out for ham-fisted mechanics and your air filter box screws if they do that too. Does it include cabin filters (a/c)?

cheers, Gary
