Re: Poor braking
The braking for road use of the DS2500's should be waaaay better than standard pads.
If they are bedded in - the only time their braking is poor is the first couple of stops in the morning.
For mine I just give them a decent prod on the way out of the estate in the morning, and they then have more than enough stopping power to lock my also cold tyres - so their cold road use is just fine.
I'm sure its a bedding-in issue.
I did attempt to follow the bedding in procedure on my first set, although I also used brand new discs at the same time which apparently is a complete no no for bedding in - everything is too smooth.
As a result I imagine I experienced probably the level of braking you describe.
Once they were really properly bedded in they were absolutely superb.
Amusingly I only discovered my bedding-in was insufficient on track so experienced what felt like fade, but was just the surface glazing over.
The bedding in wasn't complete until the brakes had cooled down completely which in my case wasn't until the end of the lunch brake for the track day.
After lunch I was delighted with the difference, and I haven't got them to fade on me yet since - despite my best efforts!
I'm not a doctor - but I really do recommend braking later
