Re: What Are The Symptoms Of Warped Brake Discs?
Did the discs warp soon after you had them fitted?
If so there is a good chance that it was the fitting that stuffed them. When you change a set of discs the hub mounting area must be totally cleaned. As in lots of wire brushing, then lots of brake cleaner etc. The mating surface must be totally muck free. Then the disc bolts down flat. Any muck behind the discs will cause them to warp. The disc will not run true, for a while all is well as the floating caliper will counter the very slight irregularity, then, one part of the disc will heat up as it runs on the pads when no applied, that bit heats up and the disc ends up warped. Get a new set of good discs, not pattern parts and good pads, take a lot of time cleaning them, lots of grease on the caliper sliding pins. Then no more warping unless you leave you foot on the brake after a long or hard stop.
PS - Black diamond cross drilled discs and Feredo DS Performance pads are good.
