thanks for all replies.
the sparks weren't too big, and i may have touched the permanant live on the switched live from the ignition, which could be worse.
yes i am an idiot, cause all i had to do was turn a 'jumper' switch on the back of the kenwood head unit that would have switched the permanant live and switched live from the ignition to the correct connections on the head unit. again **** spring to mind!!
i have tested power from the plugs that go into radio and there is no power from either permanant live or switched live, so that makes me think fuse to:-
radio power supply, heater power supply, boot switch, and outside temperature gauge, and the alarms electronics.
@gta chris, the battery is fine as i can still start the car and lights , indicators, dash lights, warning lights etc, still work.
its just the radio, interior heater, fans, alarm, remote boot (from inside or out), and the mileage flashing at me.
again ****, and hopefully not going to be too big a repair bill!!
