Hi guys, never read on any forums about Alfas before buying one, was gonna do it anyway.
Purchased a 2006 147 1.6 TI... beautiful car, only 55k, Alfa Red, TI spec, 17in alloys etc... great.
Travelled from Fife in my 2005 Mondeo 2.0TD Titanium X auto and got the Alfa in Helensborough (west coast Scotland) travelled roughly 150 miles up to Inverness... beautiful drive through Glencoe, Fort William etc.... Stayed a night and travelled 150 miles down to Fife. Oil pressure light came on, checked oil - hardly any, put 2 or 3 litres in and was fine. Light came on again 2-3 days later, checked oil again and put another 2-3 litres in. Also had MCSF error once... starting to regret purchase :-S
Checked on forums and everyone said check oil weekly - how does this engine burn so much oil? Took to garage and they ran diagnostic check, only couple of errors on misfiring. They checked all spark plugs and said there was a lot of carbon deposits on some of them, so they cleaned and it's running fine. I'm just gonna have to keep an eye on it but Wow!
Also have noticed when I stop and open door there is a massive amount of heat that comes from underneath the car - I've never experienced anything like it- is this normal?
Any thoughts would be appreciated guys...
