Re: 72k Service - Is it worth paying for dealer service?
No. When I traded in my last car, the dealer said that in order of preference, they liked to see
No history - Very bad
Bitty history - No much better
3rd party history - Reasonable value to that
Dealer history - Good value
Perkins Engines history - Best value around
Perkins is my local service garage, they maintain the ambulance cars, ambulances, fire tenders, and most of the Perkins engines workforce cars. They do this as a near no-profit job! No inflated charges excellent service, you pay parts at cost, plus £35 an hour labour. E.G. 2.0 TS cambelt change = £89 for the bits, 4-5 hours labour to do, £175. Total about £250! Bargain!
Go with what local dealers like! They tend to know who does the best work.
