Reseting the On-board computer

Well I tried the reset to try and help my throle flucatation .. but there was no real improvement.

I was wondering if just removing the negative (-) cable from the battery is enough to do the reset? The problem is the positive (+) on the selesespeed battery has got a bunch of electrical stuff on it.
