The 156 went in yesterday to have various problems sorted out, including wobble at nearly all speeds and a feeling that the front wheels had a mind of their own. My VDC, ABS all kept failing too.
Also the steering wheel was at 11 o'clock when driving straight ahead down the road.
Initial thoughts were a single rear nearside flat spot on one of the multi spokes and worn bushes. This would be affecting the sensors too.
Just had a call now. 1 of the 4 alloys are totally f*cked - flat spots everywhere. 2 of the 4 tyres are peppered in flat spots too and therefore ruined.
I knew I hit a pothole with one of them, but 3 is frankly ridiculous. They're not covered under warranty (so they told me - or are they wrong??) and I've got no come back.
I have been quoted £387 for a new set of cloverleaf teardrop 17"s (see attached pic) and then I have to fork out for 2 new Goodyear F1...
...and then get them fitted, balanced and tracked.
Only then will the dealer re-evaluate the car for worn bushes/arms etc etc (fair enough actually
...and to make things better.....
Ladies and gentlemen, I present you with..... a new gearbox!!!!
2nd to 3rd has gone all crunchy....not good news and NOT a fixable job either. So it's a new one under warranty.
I know of 1 other AOer with the same alloys problem as me. Anyone else want to add their weight to a letter that's going to ARUK??? Or indeed gearboxes on the newer 156s.
