problem or not?

Can anyone help with this problem (if it is a problem).
When I accelerate I hear this kind of whirring, whizzing sound coming from around the front near side wheel - does this indicate a problem that needs to be addressed?
Not the most technical of terms used in this thread I appreciate but thatís the only description I can think of!

Thanks as always

oh and by the way its a 2001 147 1.6TS

Re: problem or not?

Could be bearing related or a brake disk/pad problem...but not sure about the type of noise though, as last time I had a bearing problem the sound was like a squeeking and then developed into a growl sound.

immobliser fault

hello guys i am a proud (i think) new owner of a alfa romeo 147
that i bought from salvage today

the only main problem that i have at the moment is that there is a immobliser fault and the engine does not start. the guy that i bought the car from says that the car way driven into the yard he says the only problem that he thinks it could be is that the battery has gone flat and is causing this problem.
is there anyone with suggestion for me of over coming this problem

Re: problem or not?

could always be a worn tyre. if not id be checking the brake disks and at last resort bearing... although bearings are normally pretty obvious when they fail

young boi... please post your problems in your own topic. do not higack other posts...

welcome to the club both of you

Re: problem or not?

Sounds like the start of a worn n/s/f hub bearing to me , best get it checked mate.
