After my successful weekend I've had a not so successful couple of days.
Stripped out the front wiper motor yesterday, cleaned off old grease and reassembled - exactly the same - still only working on manual sweep and full speed and not parking. Used motor now on order off the bay should be here tomorrow or thursday
Today decided to tackle the lazy/sticking drivers rear window - doorcard off, cut the membrane to access the inside - didnt have time to take the motor assembly out but greased the cables and runners by feel and sprayed loads of silicone grease in the channels - still no good
Needs proper removal and greasing/wd40 whilst being powered by the look of it - either that or a new motor mech.
Finally tried the rear wiper motor - again didnt have time to strip it but blasted the spindle with WD40 and then gave it a helping hand to get it going - was a bit graunchy at first but now it moves - then took the wiper arm off and just left it going and kept dripping oil down the shaft.
Put it back together and the arm still gets stuck - it might be OK on a soaking wet screen I guess but It will only sweep properly with help - so it looks like that needs to come out too for a proper strip down.
On the plus side since the new stat and oil/filter change its running lovely - taking a bit of getting used to watching the temp gauge creep up to 90 then drop quickly back to 75 or so as the stat opens and dumps cool coolant in - never had a car like it !
