That old chestnut, lost key, possibly in boot
Ok, I know this is not a new situation, but have lost my car key and have searched high and low. Last time I used it was to pop the boot on my 2005 156 jtd ti
Therefore am really hoping it is in the boot, and I will happily call myself a complete tool.
The car is on the street outside my house so I want to be able to get into the car fairly quickly.
after a search on the forum, methods I have looked at are wedging the door at the top and using a rigid wire to
1, pull the boot release
2, pull the interior handle
Have previously once done this method on my brothers punto, so confident.
Or alternately to pull out the rubber from the drivers window and fish for one of the rods using a thin piece of metal angled to purpose.
My worry is the inevitable setting off the alarm...
Ive noticed if I have ever locked the car with the key mechanically then it primes the alarm and unlocking with the key unsets it.
If I hunted for the internal door rods, would pulling one up have the same effect deactivating the alarm.
If there is no option and I have the alarm sounding full blast... is there a way to silence the alarm rapidly incase in my worst case scenario the key is not in the boot.
I understand the alarm to be in the front nearside wheel arch, can I get access just by jacking or must the wheel come off too.
many thanks to anyone who can help, as said in previous posts I know giving info on gaining entry into a car is not ideal on a forum but then a thief would already be using similar methods or a house brick.
