GTA cat. C on Copart

Hi Guys,
How much do you think it is worth?
I was thinking of buying her as a project.
What do you think?
Regards Mike

I wouldn't be paying very much more than the 125 its already at. Intergalactic mileage, damage all over, note the passenger door doesn't shut so it'll need to go on a jig. If you did get it for cheap I'd be looking to break it, the wheels and the interior will get you the money back, if the engine runs then there is a few quid there then weigh the shell in - 150 these days? (not sure on scrap steel money these days).

I would have a look at that door - if it really doesn't shut, then Rockhopper is spot on, it will need to be jigged, and you are looking at a chunky bill, not DIY unless you own a body shop. If the door is simply ajar, and shuts well (and all the other doors are good), then it is more of a "uneconomic but fun" project, than "crazy". Though I would still want the alignment of every thing checked pretty carefully before driving it.

The oil leak is probably the cooler. The next step is to work out the condition of the engine - it has to have been looked after to get to 170k, so it may have had loads of work and be Ok. On the flip side, it may have been run with the leak and utterly seized.

I think it is a breaker, but if you have access to a body shop, might be a saver. If you after a project, there a ratty GTAs out there for cheap that need DIY love. You'd only take this on if you were bloody minded and wanted to save it.

Is that mileage real ? 176,000 ?

Engine is probably worn aswell.

You can get an 02 version in good nick for 4K just now on Autotrader.

This car is for stripping. Seats, wheels and front calipers.

Don't think the chassis is bent, that door is ajar because they have taken the interior pics from that side. If the door doesn't close they wouldn't have opened it to take the pics.

Agree with the other guys that its not worth much, drivers seat looks trashed, front near wheel could be damaged as the car looks impacted on that corner. Mileage is very high but a look through the paperwork might disclose a rebuilt engine in its history.

I've looked though most of the other cars on their site and non of them have doors left ajar which reinforces my opinion that this one is bent :-)
