I've just got my first Alfa GT (V6) that has the Nav+ system installed... And while this is pretty cool I always had in mind to replace the unit with a Bluetooth/internet connected one.
Prior to getting the car I was fairly sure it would be pioneer app radio - as there are several pics of it looking really nice and people saying sound is good, despite only have 2V RCA pre-out.
However, having owned the car for a week, I'm massively frustrated by the lack of storage (no comments please) - and completely get why Alfa chose to put a card storage unit in the standard radio setup...
So a couple of questions:
1) Has anyone replaced a double DIN unit with two single DIN parts (I.e head unit + storage bin) such as:
Connects 2 Car Audio Systems, Car Stereo, Car Radio DAB Stereos, Car interface adapters and accessories > ProductInformation
2) Has anyone installed a motorised screen single DIN unit (e.g. pioneer x7500bt)
On YouTube there is a 147 with one, but never what it looks like closed.
I suspect that it has to stick out quite a long way - which probably looks awful? But the layout of the centre console is almost perfect for this type of unit?
... If anyone can point me in the direction of some pictures of either of these I will be forever grateful! And can we avoid any sarcastic jokes about storage...
PS on the off chance, can anyone recommend someone to install whatever solution in the Nottingham, Sheffield or Cambridge areas?
