156 Central Locking Puzzle

Haven't posted in a while since the 156 has been behaving itself....well that's a lie..i've a few normal Alfa niggles which i can live with but before i live with this latest one,i thought i might ask if anyone had a solution.

As above, the central locking on my 2003 156 interior facelift 1.6 TS will only lock and unlock all doors from the passenger side.

However when i lock it from the passenger side i can then reopen all the car doors from the drivers side...strange ...and lock again...but only the drivers door locks !!

Again inside the car when i push lock buttons down on passenger side..all doors lock......but try on driver's side...only driver's door locks

Hope this isn't too confusing...any ideas ?

NB Took out battery for an hour...no luck

Edit: Right...think i've got it fixed...read up on something about a 30 second fuel cut off switch disabling locking...so i pressed the wee switch and hey presto we're back to "normal" again !!
