Well my poor old 156 has been retired. It's not had a good time of it of late, what with me having the keys nicked from my coat last year for it. Having all four tyres slashed a few months ago, and finally having the rear end caved in by a hit and run (stolen, probably) accident couple weeks ago.
You might think I live in quite a shady area, but in fact I live in St Johns Wood in North West London... My much loved 156 has been cursed since I moved there 18 months ago. Needless to say, I am very keen for my next move which should hopefully be only a few weeks time.
Having trudged about and endured public transport, home grocery deliveries and the great british weather for two whole weeks, I relented and bought a new car.
Enter my new shiny red 147
Lovely car, low milage, 2005, 1.6 TS and in great condition. A very suitable replacement for my 2002 156 2.0 TS.
Imagine my horror when this morning I parked it in my work car park, and went into work, hear the alarm going off, turn back to see it had rolled into a fence post... The once beautiful red face now had a black vertical scar down it
Seems the hand brake hadn't engaged properly and it had popped off causing the car to roll forward to kiss the fencing post.
I've not examined the damage fully yet, as I had to get in work. But my guess is it's gonna cost a fair bit to fix. That and to get the handbrake looked at.
I've not even had it a week! I think I am not supposed to have nice things...
Anyone hazard a guess to how much it will cost? I know without a photo its hard to tell, but I'll put one up later. Or recommend a london body shop? Guessing Veloces in Barnet is my best bet.
