Alfa gt cf4 engine deflap inlet?
has anybody got any experience of removing the 4 flaps in inlet manifold ? i have a 2007 gt 1.9 with cf4 engine, black plastic manifold with the varible flap unit that fits between the cylinder head and the inlet manifold.
i have heard stories about theses flaps falling off (alfas and bmws etc) and entering the cylinders, mine are made from metal.
i am currently doing the cambelt kit/water pump, plastic manifold/throtte flap removed for cleaning and while the car is this far apart in pieces the flap unit is easy to get at.
i understand the theory of removing the flaps and leaving the rest of it in place so not to trigger and fault codes, was just thinking of removing the risk of the flaps coming loose in the future and doing engine damage£££.
has anybody got any views on this?
