Front upper wishbone replacement

Hi the ball joint on my upper wishbone has died(156 2.0), what is the replacement proceedure does the whole suspension have to come out to change the wishbone?

You should just be able to manage by lowering the suspension at BOTH sides to permit lifting the alloy tower with the top wishbone on it, over the top of the spring/damper after removiing the 4 nuts at the top.
Best balljoint splitter to use is the scissor action type. Watch out for the bang when the balljoint gives!
