Irratic idling

i know this is not the place but tryd fiat forum and no reply the girlfreind has a fiat bravo (as some ov u may already know) the problem: its like theres a invisible man sat in the car revving it up to 2000 down to 1000rpm constantly doin this any ideas welcome many thanx

Sounds liek a problem with the idle control to me. When it's doing this, can you hear the idle stepper motor doing anything? Any change if you give it a whack?

There is a possibility that you have a leak on the vacuum side, sometimes if air is being sucked in, the fuel system over compensates causing the rising and lowering revs. i once found one of these leaks on a 90 degree bend of a rubber servo pipe, when i straightened the pipe there were splits on the internal radius. I dont have any specific fiat knowledge though.
