I reached a similar point to you with my GT. When I first got it a year ago I spent £1,200 doing a lot of bits and a remap, since then a number of minor things such as door handle replace, door strap replace, slave clutch cylinder, turbo hose, dirty pressure boost sensor, 3 new tyres. So needing the clutch replacing too I wondered if it was worth it all.
However as someone pointed out, the guy or girl who buys my car now is a lucky person. And once I have the clutch done.. I have an awesome car that I KNOW, love and is top notch for its year.
So yes, you could chop it in and buy a boring reliable car that won't strain your wallet and patience as much (maybe), but it won't give you anywhere near the driving (and just look at me
)pleasure of an Alfa. You could buy another Alfa of course
Oh and the real clincher for me.... we have a number of kids in our square and several neighbours with BMWs. But still all the kids tell me "awesome car, I'm getting one of them when i'm older, my Dads car is rubbish". I walk indoors feeling proud
