I agree with you, the instructions are not much help. I donít have the manual to hand at the moment but I can give you a brief guide to the basics.
Iím not sure if it has a Ďsemi-autoí mode or not but if both the AUTO
LEDs are lit then it is definitely in AUTO
and if only one LED is lit then it is not. If it is in AUTO
then all you need to adjust is the temperature control, the system will then control the fan speed, direction, compressor enable(the * button) and recirculation until the required temperature is reached and maintained. If it is in AUTO
and you intervene and manually adjust any other functions such as fan speed , air direction , recirculation or compressor enable then it will remove itself from AUTO
mode. To return it to AUTO
mode simply press the AUTO
button and the system will once again adjust the settings as it sees fit.
If the MONO
button LED is lit then the driverís controller also controls the passenger side temperature. If the MONO
LED is off then the passenger and driver side temperatures can be adjusted independently.
The recirculation function is particularly baffling and to be honest I never really use it. Personally I find it is best to leave it in AUTO
and adjust the temperature to suit and let the system take care of itself. The rapid demist function is a good feature and works regardless of whether the system is in AUTO
Itís also worth noting that, especially at this time of year, if the temperature drops below approx 2 degrees C then the compressor cannot operate so you will not see the * LED lit until the outside temperature increases to about 4-5 degrees C.
Iíve just read this back and it is almost as confusing as the manual but hope it helps.
