I do monthly (or there abouts?!) trips from Edinburgh to North Leeds, using the A702 on to the A/M74, then the M6 and take J36 for the A65. Total is around 208 miles. All kinds of road/driving. I'll admit to doing 1 or 2 mph over the speed limit (careful here, don't want to upset anyone!), but I average about 3.5 to 4 hours driving time. In all the V6s I ever had, 156 X 3, and 166 X 1, and even the couple of 2.0 147s that I've had, it always took around 3/4 of a tank.
I miss my V6 so much - the sound, stance, and its amazing looks...Full Zender kit, GTA alloys...but now I have a 156 2.4 JTD 20v, and I know it doesn't look as good apart from the face lift "evil" front end, but it's no slouch at 175 bhp with tonnes of torque, and to be able to do the same journey in the same time with probably better overtaking facilities (turbo), BUT to only use a 1/4 of a tank of diesel, yes a 1/4, I really don't know if I could ever go back to owning a V6! And that hurts to say that because my first 4 Alfas were V6s, and I used to swear by them...still would for the reliability they provided!!!
Hope I've not offended any "petrol heads"?!
