Battery Fuse Jumping when Starting

Something weird has happened with the battery (last time the battery exploded when I turned the ignition, that was 11 months ago ) or battery fuse... car is running fine, parked in street for 2 hours, unlock alarm, interior lights come, all OK. Turn the igniton and loud clicking nosie from hood, all lights go out. Open hood, tap on battery fusebox a few times and interior lights come back on. Try to start again and same thing happens. This goes on for 4-5 times, then the engine comes to life and all is back to normal. What's up? All battery connections look solid. Could it be a faulty fuse?
