156 2.0ts - wont start 0 HEEELLLPPPPP!!
Been searching through threads all day but cant find anything that has worked so far.
Story goes as follows:
Had the car for 5 months, on 72,000m but engine was replaced @ 58,000 with new cam belt, clutch etc when old cambelt went for previous owner.
Car has been starting really well, even on these very cold days we have been having. Driving home last night seemed ok, quite low on petrol (as far as you can tell from the cr*ppy gauge!) as done 290 from usual 340 miles from tankfull but shouldn't be an issue. Parked overnight on driveway as normal (slopes down quite steep so car parked nose down). Nothing unusal so far.
This morning - started car, got kids in, left running to warm up, went inside for 2 mins came back out and car had stopped - kids say it just stopped. Tried to restart, fires but doesn't catch and run. Try over and over - engine tuns freely but no running and even firing has stopped by now.
So far I have tried:
Putting fuel in (just in case it was lower than i thought and it ran out while ticking over?) - no luck
Pressing cutout switch - never done this before but switch pressed down ok (just in case slope caused car to think something was worng or kids touch it by accident) - no luck
Cleaning fuel pump relay - can hear it clicking whe ignition goes on - no luck
Cant hear a wirring in boot from fuel pump as mentioned in another thread - should i be worried?
taken fuel pipe from fuel rail - pertol there but if car turned over it doesn't gush out with force as Ive seem fuel pump on non inj engines do - again, is this possibly a fuel pump issue?
Any more ideas to check - need the car for tomorrow!!
Runing out of ideas!!!!
