OK – you can fit many lower profile tyres to your current 15” wheels BUT the lower the profile, the lower the overall diameter of the tyre for the same tyre width.
You can combat this by increasing the width of the tyre (ie a 205/55 tyre has the same diameter as a 225/50 tyre).
A 6.5” wide wheel is best with a tyre width from 195 to 205 but could fit 185 to 225 wide tyres.
The 195/60x15 has a diameter of 24.2, weighs 18lbs and a load index of 88
So you want to keep a similar diameter, load index and speed rating.
205/55x15 has a diameter of 23.9, weighs 18lbs and load index of 88 and will have a higher speed rating as it is designed for higher performance cars.
However it is slightly lower in diameter and so will cause the problems described in earlier posts.
You can fit 205/60x15 tyres as you have mentioned - diameter 24.6mm, weight 20lbs.
But IMO 60 profile tyres do not tend to be made in the high performance designs and the high sidewall will have much more flex than a 55 profile tyre.
Dont know if I've made any sense or just confused things
