C&B Fast Road Max or Fast Road Medium Cams

Hi Guys,

Anybody fitted the C&B aftermarket cams on their car?

Please let me know your experiences.

What are the difference between the fast road max cam shafts & fast road medium cams.

Thanks for all inputs.

Hi, I have just fitted a couple of C&B cams to my JTS 156. These are middle road cams, and so far so good. My car was running pretty well to start with, I fitted th cams when I did m belt change. I have done about 200 miles since the change, pretty well split between local and motorway driving. Without doubt the car has more torque and it will pull from 1000rpm in top. The power delivery is smoother and although I have not really driven it in anger I am convinced it is livelier, but NOT earth shattering. Today I did a round trip og 170 miles, mainly motorway and my indicated mpg was 37. I cruised the car at between 4000 and 4500 rpm, that probably means I have got about 33, 34 to the gallon, I am fairly happy with that.
Quite pleased so far but I did not pay the 600-800 ponds for these cams, I may not have been so pleased if I had paid that out.
I am thinking a remap may be a good idea.
Hope this helps.

Yeah, also Phil has a 2.0 instead of a 1.8. Surely a skimmed 2.0 head from a scrapper would be a cheaper mod?
