Central Locking Problems?!

Hi folks,

just wondered if anyone has/had experienced trouble with the central locking?

The problem i am having is that when i step away from the car and press the button on the key sometimes it will blink and audiably lock which is fine but then the next time it may just blink but your not sure if you heard it lock so you walk back try the door and yeah you guessed it, its still open but as the alarm has been armed the alarm goes off!

I also have trouble in opening the thing! Sometimes but not very often you press the button and it clicks once and its open - everything fine......................but 10 mins later you try it and you press the button to open and it clicks twice! Basically opening and instantly locking again! When in that mood you can only get in by basically timing it so you open the door as you press the button!

Its very annoying as i took it to alfa and they said it worked fine and last week it went to an independent alfa specialist and they also said it was fine?!

Oh and yeah - it has a fresh battery in

Re: Central Locking Problems?!

If it beeps and arms the alarm but the door pins don't go down it could be because one of the doors is not properly shut - give them all a good slam!

When it's icey, my wife's GTV will sometimes disarm the alarm but only release the door pins for a second or too before re-locking (but not re-arming the alarm). If you can't get the door open in that 2 second window, try using the key in the lock. Note that it only ever does it when the temperature is below zero and not all the time when it is!

Other than the above, I can only suggest that one of the pins/sensors is not working properly which could confuse the system.

Hope this helps but if you find a different cure do let us know!
