Re: Cambelts - LETS GET EVEN
Here in Australia, my 2001 Selespeed 147 2.0, was replaced at 60,000 km.
Note replaced, not just inspected.
The dealer was insistent on the fact this was a no-compromise action, and had to be done as close as possible to the 60,000 km or 3 years, whatever occurred first, as any damage sustained due to belt failure would definately not be covered by warranty, if it failed anytime after the 3 years from purchase date, or 60,000 km had elapsed.
I just traded my 2001 147 selespeed for a 147 GTA selespeed, and part of the trade-in valuation is the inspection of the service history inthe service manual.
I noticed for the first time that they recorded an entry for the date of the cambelt replacement, and the dealer said they would not accept a trade in on any of the 147's older than 3 years or 60,000km if they had not had the cambelt replaced.
