Wave New Member - Question!

Hello Everyone!.

Hope you can help me!. I have not long had my ***** Romeo 156 1.8 T-Spark Lusso (2001) Y Reg (a couple of weeks) and within this time I have managed to loose my Hanbook (I believe it has been put in the bin by my kids).

Anyway, what I am trying to pull through me is: What is the recommended oil/lubricant to use for my car?

I would be grateful if any of you could let me know!

(yes, I am a woman!)

Re: New Member - Question!

Welcome to AO, Confused? hope you enjoy your Alfa (not ***** by the way) and your visits to this forum.

For the UK Alfa 156 1.8TS, 1998-onwards I believe the engine oil recommendation is 10w-40.

Alfa use a part-synthetic oil from new, called Selenia 20K which you can get from Alfa dealers but you should be OK with any well know brand oil either part or fully synthetic. There's a lot of posts on this forum about oil and various member's recommendations as it can be a bit of a personal choice as what's best. You should check your oil often as Alfas normally tend to use oil and keeping it topped-up will keep your engine healthy. As a minimum I check mine every two weeks.

I hope you find this forum a friendly place to visit, we have few female members that post occationally and all new members are welcome.
