Subtle modifications can sometimes enhance what is there, but by altering major details can ruin the whole aesthetic and sensitivity of design of a car.
1st of all I was being smart back to you, seen as you made the smart comment to Oly.Maybe you dont like those rear lights, but dont label him as a boy racer just becuase he is interested in buying or wants to buy a different set of rear lights and paint them to suit his car.You dont know the chap,so dont lable him.If that is what he wants to do then let him do it,but dont label him for it.Fair play to him for doing something different too.Thats what I say.
And with regards my comment, maybe you should have a look at some of my posts in the past few months. Then you will see what I thought of my standard 147 when I bought it new,and the reason why I changed its styling, rebuilt and turbocharged the engine and changed its wheel, brake and suspension systems too. Then you will understand what I said a bit better. My 1.6 litre now develops over 280bhp and 232 ft/lb torque at only 12 psi boost and 300bhp and 244 ft/lb torque at 15 psi boost, and has amazing acceleration when compared to a standard 1.6 litre(0-60mph in 5.5 seconds) and race spec handling/braking systems now.Its just a little bit fast too, when compared to a standard 1.6 litre.
Oh and Im not a boy racer as you seem to think,
,Im 28 years of age and Im a car and motorbike tuning enthusiast.I modify and tune all my cars and bikes.
I had my car rebuilt to my specifications and my liking.I dont care how many designers/engineers worked on the 147 or how much they spent on making it.
I did not like it so I changed every aspect of it to my liking.I bought the car with the aim of ripping it apart and changing every aspect of it to my liking.I even had ordered styling/tuning parts for the car even before I got the keys to it from the Alfa dealer.
