Update: IT LIVES!!
Well, kind of. It appears the problem is electrical in nature, I'm assuming with the wiring that goes into the two connectors on the bulkhead. After charging, the car still wouldn't start so I began checking connectors etc, trying to start her after each connector was separated and reconnected. Got to the two bulkhead connectors (Brown and purple) disconnected them, reconnected them and she fired up but the fan was on constantly, drove the car home (ran like a dream, despite the fan) turned her off and then restarted her, this time the fan was off!
The headlights are still flickering (dipped beam) and I'm wondering if that's connected in some way as I've changed the relay and associated fuses. Also, while she was running I tested the alternator and it was charging between 13.9 and 14.3 volts.
It looks like someone has been into the wiring loom at some point in the past as its wrapped in PVC tape and some individual wires also have bits of tape on them. So now I have a good clue as to what the problem is.
Thanks for all your helps guys, I'll probably still be needing it over the next few days...lol
