went out for a drive in my 156 v6 this evenening, all was going well untill i got on the motorway!
i accelerated hard in 3rd up the slip road then slipped in to 4th,got to about 80mph then it stopped revving!!so i slowed down, looked at dash,no warning lights anywhere temp at 50 degrees(dogy thermostat)as it always is when not in traffic, and tried to accelerate again and just no power there at all!it feels like im dring with the handbrake on!!
any ideas?my initial thought was that one of the coils had gone but it revs pretty ok with no load(i.e. revving it out of gear) and doesnt sound like its misfiring!
its got a really touchy throttle at the moment, really jerky unless using a fair bit of throttle so was wondering if the fly by wire throttle is at fault.
actuall the car has been failing to start lately, the battery keeps going flat so could it be a lack of battery power thats the problem?light didnt dim and it restarted ok after switching off!
plugs, oil and filters were done less than 3k ago, only fuel filter wasnt done(none in stock).
ive had the car 2 months and am already sick of it!when i bought it i was told i had bought one of the most unreliable cars about and chose not to believe it!now i wished i had listened!
if its gonna cost me lots to fix its going and im getting another fiat coupe!
anyway, anybody got any ideas whats wrong?im gonna tear everything apart in the morning as its too dark for fault finding now.
