The wifes 159 did the same thing. It would go mental after rain or a wash.
I took the bumper off in the end and found a spectacularly crap joint in the cable loom that could have been dealt with at the factory a whole lot better. Resoldered and wrapped properly, they were a lot happier.
If you put your ear real close you can hear a high pitch "clickclickclickclick". If its not doing that then it may be the sensor. But check the wiring between the body and bumper, just in case they were made by the same bloke...

I just need a bit of time and I reckon mine could be fixed. There is one, I think it is one of the middle sensors playing up.
