147 RHD Passenger footwell leak
Last week I was on holiday in Dartmoor for the week and I am not kidding I have never beeen out and about with 4 days of constant heavy rain. The amount of standing water I drove through was collosal to say the least. I aquaplanned a dozen times also with the van on!
Anyway, after the heavy rain, I notice the passenger footwell in my RHD car was somewhat rather wet. I could tell as there was a white water mark following the edge of the car mat. As I clean the car out once a week (inside and out) I am sure I would have noticed this as its so obvious.
My car is on an 03 plate (2003) so I would have thought it would be free of the modification needed with the aircon pipe extension.
So, could it be the aircon pipe of the heavy rain causing this?
I wiped off the mark with a damp cloth, but noticed that it turned soapy as though it could be the aircon coolant. The actual leak on my RHD car is coming from the top of the centre console unit where the bulkhead is. The sound deadening material is drenched, though I have dried it all out with tissue, so I will get some idea as to if its an ongoing problem with the car if it gets wetter, or if it was just the amount of rain I drove through.
Any thoughts on this matter guys?
