Took my bella to have her 32k miles service yesterday. Other than the standard service and small things (washer jets were crappy etc), I reported a slight vibration at *cough* anything over 90mph.....
Diagnosis: A buckled rear nearside alloy!
Price to replace it with a new alloy.....£247.00!!!
It's not a big deal when driving, but its just a very slight vibration. My passengers cannot hear it - its just my ears are tuned into the car
My problem, as some may remember, is that I had the alloys re-furbished a year ago due to corrosion and they applied a lacquer topcoat. It looks
but it also means it now doesn't exactly match to a standard finish. Bugger.
The service manager commented that they see quite a lot of buckled 17" due to less rubber twix the road and alloy. So be warned all you guys that hammer along the twisty, bumpy, crappy roads with nice big alloys fitted with low-pro rubber.
Oh and BTW, my 32k mile service came to......£314.22 inc vat
Oh well, she's going like a train now. Better than ever!!!
